Double-Sided Flexible Circuits

• Double-sided flexible circuits consist of two copper layers encapsulated by a flexible dielectric film.
  • Normally connected with a plated through hole.
    • Plated through holes provide connection between layers.
  • Double-sided flexible circuits can be fabricated with or without coverlayers, or exposed pads.
    • Access holes or exposed pads without covers may be on either or both sides
    • Vias can be covered on both sides.

• Features of double-sided flexible circuits include:
  • Two conductive layers.
  • Component assembly available on both sides.
  • Fingers are an integral part of the conductor patterns.
  • Stiffeners, pins, connectors, components, are optional.
